Seem to be a few posts in here, so as I just rewatched these three eps the other day, thought I'd stick in a post!

Wow, I love these eps! So many great things in the story telling. Unfortunately some REALLY bad guest actors! Odin stands out, as do pretty much all the Valkyrie. HATED the one who played Grinhilda.
Right, as I have only recently discovered Xena, I've been scouring the net for info on the series...obviously I now know that FIN was the show finale, and I have just read about how it ends! I don't know if I should watch it just yet, I'm still enjoying the discovery of this fab show, and am loving the Xena/Gab subtext....

I have just ordered the 10th Anniversary Collection DVD set...what do you reckon, should I watch FIN yet or not???

<img...

I've always been primarily a Lucy fan more than anything else. Still think she is THE central reason for the success of the show, but The Quest is one of my favourite episodes - and because of Gabrielle/Renee O'Connor

Her speech over Xena's coffin, and her performance throughout this episode really made this ep for me.
This is one of the best of S2 IMO. Destiny/The Quest are partly thanks to Lucy's broken pelvis - I believe she was due to come back at the end of this ep originally!
Destiny also marks Rob Tapert's directorial debut.

Say what you like about Rob - and some haven't forgiven him for killing Xena in AFIN - but we have pretty much everything to thank him for. Rob was always the driving force behind the show, and he knows the characters better than anyone.

Destiny was also a great...

Well, re watched this one tonight, and still enjoy it as one of my favourite S2 comedies.
Quite different from others, with songs and tranny beauty queens, but still some of the funniest dialogue! Excellent use of Salmoneus, and a funny take on the whole beauty contest idea. Lucy looks to be having a blast, taking the piss out of things.
Renee proves once again that she is hopeless at accents! <img...

This episode was in many ways responsible for the emergence of Uber fanfiction - the spirit of Xena and Gab in other characters. Mel and Janice are a fun team, although I never was quite convinced by Renee's cigar chomping Indiana Jones.
My favourite bit was always the part when Mel gets knocked over and stands up as Xena - and it was nicely played by Lucy. Didn't take the sword twirling to tell our girl was back, she does that Xena glare so well <img...

As the festive season approaches, this is the perfect time to re-visit this episode!
I re watched a while back, but to be honest, it still isn't a big favourite of mine. However, there are some nice bits in it - some amusing comedy moments. I always laugh at Renee playing the ghost of the nasty king's wife being lifted up on the rope. The rather daft fight at the end has its moments, and its always sweet to see that little scene at the end where Xena gives Gabrielle the wooden...

A totally Lucy-free episode after her broken pelvis, this ep sees Hudson as Xena in an pretty entertaining ep that also has the lovely Kevin Smith as a mortal Ares trying to win back his sword in an Agatha Christie inspired mystery.

As a filler while Lucy was unavailable, this was pretty good fun. Kevin and Hudson are good, Renee mainly works with Ted Raimi, and Lucy's body double gets some work at the end!
This is not a big favourite of mine, can't be XWP without Lucy, but it has...

So, lets get back to S2 shall we. This is one of my favourite S2 eps, chiefly for the pleasure of watching Lucy camp it up as Callisto! First time round I wasn't too impressed with Hudson as Xena (especially that moment when she admits who she really is to Gab it a very unconvincing "yeah") but on re watching recently, I think she was fine in the much harder role of stoic Xena.

As an Argo fan, this is a major ep, not only in Argo being the only one to realise what's going on...
